ROASTING GREEN CHILI PEPPERS

ROASTING GREEN CHILI PEPPERS

Return to Recipe Ideas

Three ways to roast green chili peppers.

You can use bigger chili pods and add Jalapenos and/or serranoes for extra heat.

  • Add your peppers to a skillet or a deep pan depending on the amount you need; add 1/4 cup of cooking oil; add your chili peppers and fry flipping until skins are charcoaled on each side. When done cover them with a lid so skins will steam and blister. When all sides are charred move from the heat and let them stand until cooled. This will make them easier to peel.
  • Air Fryer method takes longer because you don't want to stack them. Line the pan with the peppers and cook at 350 for 15 minutes on each side. When peppers are charred, remove them and put them in a pan with a lid to steam and finish cooking. You can add more to the air fryer and continue these steps.
  • Pre heat your oven to broil. Place your chili pods on a baking sheet or on the top rack. When ready bake for 10 to 20 minutes or until blackened and blistered rotating them to cook on all side. When ready remove with thongs and place in a pan with a lid or a plastic bag to finish cooking.
